Managing Committee of the Himachal Pradesh

The Managing Committee of the Himachal Pradesh consists of the following members:

  1. Hon’ble Health Minister is the Chairman of the Managing Committee.
  2. There is a Vice-Chairperson to be elected by the Managing Committee.
  3. The Secretary to Governor is the General Secretary of the State Branch and Managing Committee.
  4. All the Chairpersons of the District Branch.
  5. The Director of Health Services is the member of the Managing Committee.
  6. The Secretary of the State Branch is the Secretary of Managing Committee.
  7. Six members to be nominated by the President.
  8. 12 members elected by District Executive Committee under rule V-7 (ii).
  9. The Honorary Treasurer of the Managing Committee is elected from amongst its members.
  10. The Managing Committee has the power to co-opt representatives of affiliated Societies and bodies or other persons with expert knowledge of the Branch's work, whether as regular members or adhoc for consideration of specific matters. Co-opted members shall not exceed two.
  11. An ordinary meeting of the Managing Committee is to be held at least twice a year, initiated by the Chairperson or, in their absence, by the Vice-Chairperson, to consider the budget or other agenda items.
  12. An extraordinary meeting of the Managing Committee may be called at any time by the Chairperson.
  13. Upon a written requisition by any five members of the Managing Committee, the Chairperson shall call an extraordinary meeting.
  14. One week's clear notice of ordinary meetings, specifying the place, day, time, and nature of the business, is to be given to each member of the Managing Committee by post. Failure to notify any member does not invalidate the meeting’s resolutions.
  15. At least seven members must be present in person to form a quorum at any meeting of the Managing Committee.
  16. If no quorum is present within 30 minutes of the scheduled meeting time, the meeting will be adjourned. The adjourned meeting may take place at the same place and time on another day, where business may be transacted with or without a quorum.
  17. In the event of an equal number of votes at a meeting, the Chairperson shall have a second or casting vote.
  18. The Managing Committee has the power to create standing orders to regulate its own procedures, the procedures of any appointed committees, and to define the duties of the officers of the Branch.
