HP State Red Cross Society Achievements
- HP State Red Cross Society received Second Prize in the country for “Fund Raising Campaign” in the year 2016.
- HP State Red Cross Society has provided First-Aid training to 538 workers of various industries in Himachal Pradesh since 2013 till date.
- HP State Red Cross Society is devoted to providing relief to the poor, needy, and adversely affected people by providing financial/medical assistance. The society provided financial/medical assistance worth Rs. 2,96,822/- to 1035 persons during the year 2015-16. It is the society's endeavor to assist more people and mitigate their sufferings.
- HP State Red Cross Society has created a cadre of 163 First Medical Responders (FMRs) under Disaster Management Programme in disaster-prone villages of districts Shimla, Solan, and Mandi. The selected villages in the pilot phase are Sipur, Sharai & Bara in district Shimla, Khadin in district Solan, and Sudhar & Bagsaid in district Mandi.
- In addition, 162 volunteers were trained as master trainers in district Mandi under the Disaster Management Programme of HP State Red Cross Society.
Hence, a total of 325 FMRs were created in 5 villages across three districts for disaster response. These FMRs have further trained the local communities.
