What is the procedure for registration of new vehicle?

After purchasing the vehicle from a dealer:, the applicant shall produce the following application / documents / fees and tax challan 

o    Application form CMV FORM 20 (signature of the financier in case of (Hypothecation/Lease)

o    Sale Certificate in form CMV FORM 21.

o    Valid Insurance certificate.

o    Proof of Address : Any one of the documents referred to in rule 4 of the CMVR, 1989.

o    working certificate in Form 60, in case the applicant working in private sector applies for BH-Series registration mark.(Notification BH-Series)

o    Official Identity Card or Service Certificate, in case the applicant working in Government office applies for BH-series registration mark. 

o    Temporary Registration issued by the Registering Authority or Trade Certificate issued by the Dealer.

o    Road Worthiness Certificate in CMV FORM 22.

o    Form CMV FORM 22A in case of Body built vehicle (EX. Goods vehicle, bus etc.).

o    Customs clearance certificate in case of imported vehicle with and bond.

o    Prescribed fee amount to be paid at R.T.O Counter/Treasury/online.

o    Tax payable (depending upon the category of vehicle).

o    Bonafide agriculture certificate issued by the Tehsildar in case of registration of Tractor-Trailor unit used for agriculture.

o    Permit proceedings if any in case of transport vehicle.

All the related applications shall be filed before the Registering Authority.
