Formation of this Society is done to facilitate the Department in various activities. In this chain the Society has been made custodian of fisheries Development Funds which are received by the department from hydro electricity units installed on state rivers as well as small streams by various agencies. It is also catering casual manpower need of department since 2010 at various places in the state on outsources basis. Further, to execute Fisheries Department construction and renovation works an engineering wing is also created in this Society during 2014. This wing is being run by engaging retired Executive Engineer (C), Assistant Engineer (C), Head Draughtsman and Office Manager on honorarium basis and two departmental Junior Engineer (C). Since all departmental construction & renovation work are being performed by Engineering Wing for entire satisfaction of the Department. Till October, 2016 activity centre of the Department remained income sources of the Society and there after income of these centers is being deposited in Govt. revenue according to audit observation. Now, Except 50% interest of Fisheries Development Funds Fixed deposits no other income source is left with the Society.
