Sheep Husbandry activities continue to be an integral part of human life. According to the 17th Livestock Census (2003), Sheep and Goat contribute about 37% of the total livestock population of the State.

ð Procurement of Sheep Wool more than 90,000 Kgs.
ð Provided training to over 750 sheep breeders
ð Sheep Shearing done for over 24,000 sheep
Objectives -
ð To promote the growth and development of wool industry in the State of Himachal Pradesh.
ð To free wool breeders from exploitation by the middleman/ Traders.
ð To promote production, shearing, procurement and processing of the wool.
ð To establish wool procurement and grading centers.
ð To undertake MARKETING of wool within and outside state.
