With the enactment
of the Criminal Procedure Code 1973, the Prosecution Agency was separated from
the Police. Posts under the cadre of Police Prosecutors were abolished and a
regular cadre of prosecutors was constituted and since then Directorate of
Prosecution is working under the Home Department.
Prosecution
Department occupies an important place in the main pillars of criminal justice
administration, on which the responsibility of conducting prosecution with
transparency is imposed. The main objective of the Prosecution Department is to
cooperate in the process of providing proper justice to the victims and conduct
prosecution neutrally to get proper punishment to the criminals and present
arguments on behalf of the government keeping in view the legal provisions
while conducting prosecution in the court.
Our mission is to prosecute and secure punishment
to the offenders and to help the victims of crime to get Justice
