OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject:- Grant of Dearness Relief to Himachal Pradesh Government
Pensioners / Family Pensioners-Revised rate effective from
01.07.2007.
The undersigned is directed to refer to this department's O.M. No.
Fin (Pen)B(10)-6/98-II date 15th June 2007 sanctioning one
instalment of dearness relief with effect from 01-01-2007 and to say
that the Governor Himachal Pradesh is pleased to decide that
dearness relief payable to the Himachal Pradesh Government
Pensioners / Family Pensioners shall be enhanced from the existing
rate of 35% to 41% w.e.f. 01-07-2007
2. Payment of Dearness Relief involving a fraction ofa rupee shall
be rounded off to the next higher rupee.
3. Other provisions governing grant of dearness reliefto pensioners
such as regulation of dearness reliefduring employment /
re-employment, regulation ofdearness relief where more than one
pension is drawn etc. will remain unchanged.
4. These orders shall apply to all H.P. Government Pensioners/
Family pensioners.
5. Pensioners of all India Services who have retiredfrom service of
the Himachal Pradesh cadre, will also be entitled for dearness
relief at the rate as mentioned above.
6. As dearness relief will now be at a uniform rate it has been
decided to dispense with the issue of
enclosing ready reckoner alongwith the dearness relief
orders . It will be the responsibility of the pension
disbursing authority,including the Nationalized Banks, etc. to
calculate
the quantum of dearness relief payable in each individual case.
7. The Accountant General, Treasury Officers and authorized Public
Sector Banks are requested to arrange payment of relief to
pensioners on the basis of these orders immediately.
8. The Dearness Relief on pension & family pension @ 41% will be
paid with the pension/family pension for the month of November,2007
payable in December,2007. The arrears accrued on account of dearness
relief w.e.f. 01-07-2007 to 31-10-2007 shall be paid incash in
one instalment in the month of November,2007.
